Spring Into Skincare

Spring is a time for rebirth, renewal and rejuvenation. The frigid temps of
the winter have gone, the sun is blessing us with longer days, flower buds
are popping up, and animals seem to have reappeared. Not only is this
season an awakening of nature, it is also a time to awaken our skin by
switching up our skin care rituals.

Lighten Up

No longer do we need products with heavy emollients to combat the
dryness that winter brings. During this time, our skin benefits more from
more water-based ingredients. Think water-based serums, gel creams and
overall hydration that supports your skin without overwhelming it. Your goal
is balance – hydration without heaviness.

Exfoliate to Renew

After months of buildup from richer products, gentle exfoliation becomes
key. Incorporating enzymatic (citric acids) or mild chemical exfoliants
(glycolic, lactic acid, etc.) help with sloughing away dead skin cells,
revealing a brighter, smoother complexion underneath.

Reintroduce Radiance

Spring is the perfect time to bring back glow-enhancing ingredients like
Vitamin C, which is a potent antioxidant, neutralizing free radicals caused
by UV exposure and pollution to slow down signs of aging. It also
stimulates collagen production for firmer skin, helps to fade dark spots and
brighten tone, and reduces inflammation. IMAGE Skincare has a
phenomenal Vitamin C line that we LOVE (more to come on that…)
Remember seasonal transitions can sometimes bring sensitivity or
breakouts, so adjust your products gradually and intentionally. And most
importantly, book a facial with a licensed esthetician to kick off the season
and get you set up with the proper protocols for an at home skin care
routine.
